Dane’s 40 before 40 list started out very ambitious, very serious, very no-nonsense. As someone who deeply admires his goal-oriented nature but also cares about his sanity, I encouraged him to add some goals of a more frivolous nature.
He added the Rubik’s cube.
Sticking with the theme of frivolous, for his 30th birthday, I picked up a classic Rubik’s cube and three extra variations of increased complexity. We had a good laugh.
Dane figured out how to solve the original Rubik’s cube in under a week. And then he did it over, and over, and over again.
He’s too smart for his own good, and I adore him.
