Reading Seth Godin’s blog is part of my morning routine. Despite a miraculous ability to be fairly brief (seriously, I’m jealous) he regularly shares thoughts that, for me, evoke deliberation and reflection. Today, it was this line:
There is no normal. Simply the relentless cycle of change.
Sometimes, I find myself doing all the things, all of which I truly enjoy. It does feel relentless, and on occasion I realize that I am ignoring certain items on my to-do list. The trap I fall into is to say that my schedule is hectic and that I’ll address xyz once things are “back to normal”.
The relentless cycle of change is my norm, and the only way to stay on top is to adapt and prioritize.
